No matter what neighborhood you grew up in, there’s always going to be that one girl who everyone had a crush on – maybe she lived in your apartment building or in the house just across the road. Regardless though, as we move away from home, see new things, and make new friends, it seems hard to forget our childhood crushes.
The unlikely duo of Freddie Gibbs and hood economist 2 Chainz have teamed up for a new single titled “Neighborhood Hoez” which takes visual cues from Friday, as well as Gucci Mane or any other music video partially filmed in a gentleman’s club. This anthemic song is, amongst other things, dedicated to the good girls back home that we all grew up with. It’s true that they don’t make ‘em like they used to, but this song stands as a reminder that if you keep things casual, any girl can be as laid back as the one that got away.
